Who Can Apply? – Eligibility Requirements Explained

  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of Karnataka.
  • students should belong to one of the eligible categories: SC, ST, OBC, Minority, EWS.
  • Must be enrolled in a govt verified higher secondary, UG, PG, or professional educational institution.
  • Annual family income must fall within the limit prescribed by the respective department.
  • Students receiving other scholarships or stipends are not eligible.

Scholarship Benefits – What Students Will Receive

  • SC category students:
    • ₹7000 per year (day scholars)
    • ₹13,500 per year (hostellers)
  • OBC/Backward Classes students:
    • Up to ₹20,000 covering fees and additional allowances
  • Minority & PWD students (as per department norms):
    • Tuition, exam fees, hostel charges, and maintenance allowance

How to Apply Online – Step-by-Step Registration Guide

To apply for the SSP Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship 2025 students must follow the given below steps carefully only students who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the scholarship:

Step1: Visit the State Scholarship Portal at ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in.

Step2: Click on the “New Student Registration” option and enter the required details such as Aadhaar number mobile number and email ID.

Step3: After registration Log in using the generated User ID and password and fill the application form by the details like name date of birth category and other information.

Step4: Provide the academic information and Upload required documents which includes: Aadhaar card, Bank passbook, Caste certificate, Income certificate, Study certificate and Disability certificate (for PWD Certificate.

Step5: Get your documents e-attested through the designated officer or institution authority Then click on submit button.

How Selection Is Done – Complete Screening Process

The selection process under the SSP system is transparent and involves multiple verification stages:

  1. Institute Verification: Schools/colleges verify the academic and personal details submitted by the student.
  2. E-Attestation & Aadhaar Authentication: Documents are checked electronically, and Aadhaar details are authenticated.
  3. Department Approval: After verification, the application is forwarded to the relevant department (SC/ST/OBC/Minority/etc.).
  4. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT): Once approved, scholarship funds are released directly to the student’s bank account.
